Translatability assessment
Translatability depends not only on the linguistic component, but also a cultural component. If cultural appropriateness is an issue for you, and you need to translate a document into several different languages, a translatability assessment of your document during the original document production process may turn out to greatly improve the cost- and time-effectiveness of the subsequent translation project.
How does it work?
- Step 1: You send us the original (the document to be translated). There is no need to wait for the final original. Anticipation is the keyword.
- Step 2: We review the original in all its aspects (format, content, etc.). Translatability and cultural adaptability are reviewed for each target language / culture.
- Step 3: We produce a report, which contains: (1) consideration of all relevant linguistic and cultural aspects, (2) language-specific and culture-specific issues, (3) assessment of overall translatability and cultural adaptability, (4) reformulation and modification recommendations
- Step 4: Debriefing, clarification and reconciliation session
- Step 5: You finalize the original
